“Elitist” and “Establishment.” those words will probably be bandied about, a million times, before this or any other given day is over.
They have become the words deguerre for many on the professional chattering right. . . . especially those firmly (((dare I say it,))) established at the elite level of the conservative media circus.
The trouble is, is that the political soil, right now, has become so excessively fertile from both the unprecedented amount of information that naturally exudes from the grassroots nutrients of the average citizens and the nearly infinite ways that this information now gets into the political arena that the continued and constant verbose luxuriously perfumed BS that is daily spewing from the ivory halls of the right-wing broadcasting towers, is creating a poisonous mighty asseveration-umbrella that shrouds and greatly threatens to ultimately choke the life out of not only our current crop of faux conservative legionnaires , but the essential garden of legitimate conservative mindset.
The end result will thusly render our fair conservative movement a meaningless and ultimately temporary political speed bump.(((pant pant pant, whew!!!)))
Being the mean spirited media elitist that I am let me pick on the home team, our current crop of condescending conservative blatherers.
(((I say that because I believe that. I tell my children just as my father told me, that if anyone tries to tell you in a disdainful or hurtful manner that “you think that you’re so damn smart,” you tell ‘em, “yer damn right I do. Would you rather I be a dumb-ass like you.” I added that last part myself.)))
I aim my not so powerful epigraphist’s kanonenn at the so called right wing cabal that has beenin power for the past fifteen to twenty years.
They have literally made their bones bashing the nation over the head with the “politically holier than thou book of family values.”
They have, hourly it seems, decried the “dumbing down of America,” told dissenters to “shut up & sing” and denounced our tap dancing quickstep straight into the maw of Gomorrah. All the while, mind you, they were grousing that not enough of us has attached our souls to the idea of “American Exceptionalism” or whatever new form of Manifest Destiny that they could quickly rename and repackage in a sugary sweet nom-de-plume.
We have been thoroughly doused in the daily broadcast castigations dealing with the crisis of teen moms, unwed teen moms, unwed gay teen moms, moms of gay unwed teens, gay moms of unwed teens, the oversexed culture that creates unwed oversexed gay teen moms and too many other tirades and clichéd invectives to mention.
However, that political kvetching was ok because it was the unspoken intention that we were always talking about the other community _ insert urban saggy pants black community, or northeastern egghead liberal community, or California hippy community here.
We, the upstanding rock-ribbed good guys would always give short-shrift platitudes to the fact that yes, in every community there were problems, but our conservative daggers were really truly only unsheathed and steeled for battle with the other folks.
Help me out here, weren’t we recently talking about and doing our best to demean that bronze rock star, that mini messianic figure, that inexperienced prima donna, B. Hussein O.
You know, the one who in 2008 bathed in the celebrity spotlight and was more concerned about the beauty of his soaring rhetoric than framing the key issues at hand.
But wait !!!! Right yippy skippy NOW, we have a bevy of inexperienced, underwhelming candidates that are trying to climb up to the highest rung of the political ladder.
For the most part, what do we hear from the studios of the conservative interlocutor's. . . . (((cue the crickets chirping.))) And what about OUR media_ well I ain’t supposed to use the word elite here, buuuuuut we in the right wing chattering class have all but hyperventilated about how The OTHER elite media goes after_ Insert our person of choice, (((the one with the unwed almost teen mom, daughter, or maybe the one who thinks “spanking the ol’ monkey” is a sin,”))) yet we want those same media elites to dig into Chicago machine politics, or sixties radical associates.
Our media types give short shrift to low-brow journalist types who hack telephones, pose as pimps, or hack up speeches to give a false impression that it jibes with the preconceived narrative that we maliciously want to put out, while we pillory the other established media for being, well, mainstream.
We disdain the established congressperson so much that we will willingly forget that theleaders of the neoteric anti-establishment movement. . . . are. . . hmmm, well one was the majority leader under Newt Gingrich’s reign (((think of an entire military of phallus's))) another is so powerful and entrenched in both the US Senate and the South Carolina machinery that he can get a young unknown fella (((who probably has done more than his fair share of monkey spankin’,))) to enter the Democratic senate campaign. ALLEGEDLY. . . . .heh heh heh, I ain’t makin’ no factual claim to that, and no I’m not right now rolling my eyes, crossing my fingers and whistling defensively.
One thing thouth, through all of our myopic right wing media hypocrisy, we fail to realize that most American people are not dumb !!!
We better start learning that fast, or as Yeats wrote; “The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand_
